I don't understand why there are so few fanarts of him. And why people dislike him? I love that character, and I have his voice in french in my game so it's quite a beautiful voice never heard it in english.
I will make a Trahearne fanart but "evolved" version, like an older, bulkier Trahearne
Hey that is a good concept to draw! If I wasn't in my phone Id link you a bid with both Trahearne and the male sylvari main character voice. As I played mine I was so enamered by the two. I have a thing for good voice actors LOL
Oh wow that is a nice voice 8D, [link] this is his English voice. Spoilers maybe if you have not gotten far in personal story. As for the male sylvari, here is the intro that was pretty close to my own characters [link]
Beautiful piece! I love how you managed to capture all the colors in his leaves.
I'm one of those who hated Trahearne at first, thanks to letting other people bias me and because he came in right after Tybalt went out, but he's really grown on me. Hurray for not another Kormir situation!
oh yeah, I only cried for 20 mins when Tybalt died xDDD
first character I did vigil though and it didn't hit home as much as Tybs did. My second character was sylvari thought and I got to meet Trahearne in the earlier quests which didn't make it so weird of an introduction.

I think we'll have to remedy the lack of Trahearne art around here. Another fan here I loved his character (probably helps that my guardian, thief and necro are all Sylvari so I met him very early on) and like you I was more then happy to be the sidekick type. I'm sick of playing the hero with all praise. I love your blending here, the colours are superb. Faved
I think a lot of the voices were kind of bland though. The male sylvari character voice was great though so I guess I could stand him the second time around way better. My first attempt was a Norn female...bleehg voice.
I just liked the norns because I love all things viking related but I really didn't like their characters or concepts. I'm glad I finished the story on mine since she's my main. Sylvari story was great though! The male sylvari voice is the best thing ever.
I really liked him when Mother first introduced him to me, but after a while, his character animations were terrifying. I don't know if it's the white teeth and yellow eyes against his dark coloration or the fact that he seems to move more than all the other male Sylvari, but his animations are sooooo scary. He seemed like he was going to be so cool, too....I just...never got a chance to listen to his lines without running away from the computer.
My major criticism of Trahearne is that he ate Caithe's screen-time.
Aww xDD You wouldn't like my sylvari, he's like solid black with gold eyes. I know a lot of people didn't like Trahearne just because he sort of stole the spotlight. I can see why though, but of all the destiny's edge characters Caith really didn't get a lot of time in the personal story.
I kind of realized that Destiny's Edge, as cool as it was and as great as the individual character dynamics are, is just the GW2 version of Mhenlo, Cynn, Devona, Eve, and Aidan. They just happen to cross paths with you from time to time and nothing more. It worked in GW1 because they fit the role of comic relief and keeping familiar faces throughout the story, but Destiny's Edge is too fleshed out to play such a minor role. Besides, Felicia Day voice acted one of the characters.
Trahearne is fine as a character, IMO...it's just his voice acting. Sometimes, while giving orders, he sounds uncharacteristically disinterested. He's such a sweetheart, so it's sort of aggravating.</3 That and the poor guy has such trouble with expression. I struggle with making myself actually sound happy or actually sound serious, too, though, so I can relate to his communication difficulties. (He didn't even really want to be leader.<3)
Ohh it wasn't criticism Trahearne's role is to restore Orr and our role is to defeat Zhaitan and the dragons. So at least after stealing our thunder he may clean up our mess. HA! xD
I find his character very realistic; lacking faith in himself because he is a scholar and not a fighter. Not just taking on the job as if it's only natural and the easiest thing ever, again like in most games xD My story is actually at lv73 so I still don't know how it ends. Something is keeping me from going there.. I think it's because I don't want it to be over T.T
yeah he wasn't really a Mary sue at all, he was a bit surprised that he was fated to be the leader of the pact after all. its crazy hoe much he changes when he's in charge though- evident character development for sure.
I made a new character, a slyvari in order of whispers so I was like STORY AGAIN YAAY xD
Haha, I'm glad the story ends in an awesome way, apparently! I might continue soon.. Maybe.. As a Sylvari you'll get to meet Trahearne in the early levels, I think this helps Sylvari players like and know a lot more about him. (Also the story of Caladbolg is explained )
Anyway! I'm sorry for the spam! Once again, awesome piece! Go Trahearne!
I think every Sylvari meets him for the Caladbolg bit in the late lv20s Mother tree's introduction of him is so much nicer than the brief rushed introduction at Claw Island. Okay, not like they could take their time there.. BUT STILL xD
