Mage Academy in Deep City

A concept of an area in , a place for character interactions and ideas. 

To have your character take on a series of mini-challenges in Hetherev, they can use this interaction object to start. 

The Academy was an abandoned alchemist college in Aspik, rumored to have been related to magic and shut down once Aspik had revoked the use of magic within the city. There are items and structures that enable a more controlled use of magic in Hetherev. It was never destroyed but it was forgotten over time. The history of the Academy is shrouded in mystery, it has taken a couple years to refurbish but there are still halls that remain untouched. Pieces of its past are often recovered but nothing is discernible. Two white ravens seems to act as the familiars of this location, they are clever, sentient, and seemingly undying. They tend to be related to Cerul and Rhan, the blue eye'd Io following Cerul, and the red eye'd Ko feeling more attached to Rhan. 

What is its purpose?

Magic in Hetherev is fickle, as quoted before, it tends to feel more like molding wet clay once a character with the ability enters Hetherev. Sometimes with very chaotic effects if one is not careful. 
A mage without magic is often a person without purpose, their curiosities must be sated through study of the metaphysical and arcane. The entire area of the Academy is suited to better focus the way the current flows to enable the study once more.

Do I need to have a 'magic' character to join?

Absolutely not, there are many characters of The Academy that benefit its study without having the talent to use it. Dan, for example, the librarian, does not use magic but he is an asset to the academy. Characters that are afflicted with curses may also find this to be a solution to their issues, or anyone that wants to study on knowledge that only The Academy may have. 

Where was the old Academy and why did it move?

It was in Aspik, but a few events have happened to cause a ruckus among the guards. Cerul felt that there needed to be a 'fresh start' and relocated to the inside of a volcanic depression in the sea. So the Academy is above water, but surrounded by waterfall. 

Are there certain things that are taboo to study?

Yes, but fear not necromancers, demons, and mad scientists...you will have a safe place in seclusion of the headmaster to perform your devious acts.
